| Dedicated to I AM THOR, He had a dream. He understood the sturdy grace of brotherhood. He had a dream-- that simple joy would gently bless each girl and boy. He shared his dream. His wise words shone: "Join hands" "We cannot walk alone." He had a dream all hearts can sing: "This is our hope... let freedom ring." | |

| There was a brilliant article in The Times yesterday by Philip Pullman (His Dark Materials - have you read them?) about the fact our personal liberties are being eroded and no one seems to have noticed....full of poetry as well - comparing it to Blake....hang on - I'll see if I can find a link to it....(it's not working....worth looking at - times online article Feb 27th).......
Strange how the world has become 1984 without anyone really noticing....I can't see any of the video's of Osama Bin Laden without thinking about it....Have you read 1984?

| Was supposed to for a Poli Sci class, but never did, read Farhenheit 451 instead, good back that is. Tale of how eventually, freedom of the press is eliminated along with freedom of speech, showing how crucial they are to hold on to. | |

| Ah, eternal youth.
I grabbed a handful of dust, and foolishly asked for as many years as grains of it. I forgot however, to ask that they be years of youth.

| Pretty pointless really trying to hold on to youth....well unless you're very vain....it's all superficial anyway...it's the person that matters, not what they look like. | |

| Question: do you chose your slogan in your sloganizer, or is it random? | |

| Maybe...maybe not. We will never know, because the universe works in mysterious ways. | |

| Sometimes it does - hard to fathom...is there a greater force controlling this seemingly random life? | |

| Possibly. Or is this unseen force simply your own subconscious manipulating forces beyond control of the conscious mind? | |

| Don't be daft....God is always everywhere...that is the point of God...to keep you on your toes when no one's watching.... | |

| Always watching? So hes watching as the world drowns in its own filth as politicians drive systems to shit, and blood that fills the gutters scabs over and overflow causing everyone to cry out save us? | |

| yes he's watching , (and pointing and laughing if I know God, because it's all our own fault for not doing as we are told)......do you know the song that goes "I don't want to spread any blasphemous rumours, but I think that God's got a sick sense of humour and when I die I'm sure I'll find him laughing...."
Weirdly I veer (is that spelt right?) between being a devout Christian and a total atheist...no half measures for me.....which phase am I in?

| I believe that if there is in fact a Supreme being (I.E. God, MPR, Allah, Yaweh, Vishnu, etc. etc.) they are an non-interventionist being, and we are left alone.
Actually, I've found that in religion, there is no halfway

| Me? I am ultimately Zen. I take what values are similar to mine from every religion and throw it in a blender and there ya go. | |

| Have you read Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintainence? I started it many years ago but strangely found it had nothing to do with either Zen or Motorcycles, which confused me somewhat - think I was about 15 at the time.... | |

| Nope, the last book I read which dealt with Zen was the Book of Five Rings by Miyamoto Musashi | |

| I don't know much about Zen (it's a branch of Buddhism right?) I wonder how truely Buddhist one can become in a materialistic society. I did figure out during the Philosophy of religion module the point of Nirvana, not as heaven, but a state of being where you are at one with everything, not divided from it by the need to consume and destroy, and that was true contentment in this life - not a future hope in heaven, but now...but it is all letting go. | |
